TORONTO — Dangerously high temperatures persisted on Monday across much of Ontario and southwestern Quebec, as residents tried to keep cool under a lingering heat dome.

Crews battling wildfires burning near Dawson, Yukon, say there's been minimal growth of the wildfire close to homes in the area, although almost 200 properties remain on alert for possible evacuation.
