Triplets Oliver, Abigail and Meghan Creswick, have not slept in their beds since June. They prefer to sleep perched high above their home, in a treehouse shaped like a pirate ship. It took their father, Brian, three years to build it.

Bowen LIFT (Linking Islanders Through Friendly Transportation) has a new Bowen LIFT Champion. Throughout this summer, Bowen LIFT will be highlighting islanders who are giving Bowen LIFT a try.

How do they do it? The swallow parents using the nest-box in my backyard work at least 16 hours a day to raise their young. At 5 a.m.

Whether you are a “master builder” or a “master crafter” the creations you can make with lego are seemingly endless, combined with a little imagination this colorful and versatile toy can transform most game play into almost anything.

Saturday August 23 is quickly approaching and plans are well underway for another memorable Bowfest. With any community event like Bowfest, the success is dependent on the hard work and dedication of it's many volunteers.

It was a crazy day at the museum! There were suffragettes, flapper girls, a steamship captain, prohibitionists, loggers and a whole host of tie-dyed, loud, protesting hippies. If you did not know where the museum was before you will now.

Thirteen year-old Thomas De Zwart says he is the only kid in his family who eats tomatoes.

FRIDAY JULY 11 Youth Centre drop-in 6 - 9 p.m. Steamship Days - Day 1 Sip tea at Davies Orchard (3 p.m.) and join the Ukelele Jam at the Bowen Island Marina (5 p.m.) SATURDAY JULY 12 Bowfeast Farmer’s Market 9:30 - 12:30 p.m.

There are so many things to see and do during Steamship Days. The Museum and Archives are happy to have our exhibit opening “Hippies and Dippies, Dodgers and Codgers – Bowen 1960-79,” included in the action.
