Sixty years after graduation

Florian York Wells, nee Fyfe, always wanted to be a nurse. She recalls visiting her aunt in Scotland who was a nurse. "She sometimes put her cape down and treated people right there," Wells said. "That's when I decided I wanted to be a nurse.

The Bowen Island Garden Club's open garden for the month of June is at the home of Mary White. The garden is located at 1729 South Cove Road, off Eagle Cliff Road will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 10.

Bye, bye, small fry

The Terminal Creek hatchery was the scene of the yearly release of salmon fry last Sunday, June 3. Again children brought along their parents to learn about fish conservancy first-hand. It was the 19th Bowen Coho Bon Voyage and it was well-attended.
