The Bowen Island Municipality's community recreation department is planning a block party and extends an invitation to islanders of all ages to join the fun on Sunday, September 30, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Bowen Island Community School.

At the council meeting on September 17, mayor Jack Adelaar announced Kathy Lalonde's appointment as the Bowen Island Municipality's chief administrative officer (CAO). Lalonde said that she is excited and hopes to "offer some stability.

From May 25 to July 3, Bowen Islanders had a chance to communicate their priorities and levels of satisfaction to the Bowen Island Municipality in the form of a householders survey.

The Islands Trust council held three days of meetings at Cates Hill Chapel on Bowen this week, from Sept. 11-13, meetings that included a town hall.
