WASHINGTON (AP) — Missouri voters approved a measure on Tuesday that enshrines abortion rights in the state constitution and replaces a near-total ban on the procedure.

Democratic Rep. Mark DeSaulnier won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing California on Tuesday. He defeated Republican challenger Katherine Piccinini. The district covers most of Contra Costa County in Northern California.

Democratic Rep. Sharice Davids won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Kansas on Tuesday.

Democratic U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia won reelection to his third term Tuesday, defeating Republican challenger Hung Cao .

OTTAWA — MPs, diplomats and political staff gathered around the parliamentary precinct to anxiously take in preliminary results of a U.S. presidential election that they all agreed would have an enormous impact on Canada and the world.

Republican Rep. Ann Wagner won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Missouri on Tuesday. Wagner captured her seventh term in the 2nd District in suburban St. Louis by defeating Democrat Ray Hartmann.

Republican Rep. Cliff Bentz won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Oregon on Tuesday. Bentz was first elected to the seat in 2020 after serving in the Oregon Legislature for just over a decade. He defeated Democrat Dan Ruby.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Associated Press declared winners Tuesday in some states where polls had just closed, and in some cases before any votes had been released.

Republican Rep. Steve Scalise won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Louisiana on Tuesday. Scalise, who is the House Majority Leader, was first elected to Congress in 2008.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Forty-eight states and Washington, D.C., award all their presidential electoral votes to the candidate who wins statewide. Then there's Nebraska and Maine.
