In the Community

The Medical Assured Loading Program, recently being implemented on Bowen, needs another explanation as there seems to be quite a bit of confusion. It is NOT assured loading for medical appointments, no matter how important they may be to you.

There are many events that happen on the island for a variety of reasons that are sometimes mysterious… however it’s no mystery why I’ve been working with the Community Recreation programmers to help create a Scottish Family Dance on Saturday Feb.

Thanks to generous funding from the Knick Knack Nook and ongoing support from Decoda Literacy Solutions and the Bowen Literacy Task Group, the BICS Youth Curator program is running again this year (and next year,) to promote connections between youth

This year’s theme for our province’s Heritage Week is ‘Main Street: At the Heart of the Community’.

On February 16, 2015 the Bowen Island Garden club welcomes Laura Dohney who will give a presentation on how to integrate fruit trees and other small fruits into Bowen Island gardens.

For three mondays in a row starting Feb. 16th there will be a great family-friendly event happening at Bowen Island Yoga. This event will be organized by folk musician and youth facilitator Tereza Tomek.

Shahar Rabi comes from a lineage of rabbis, is a practicing Buddhist, is fascinated about Christianity, and is comfortable calling himself an aetheist. He says his wife, Saskia Tait, is a yogi. Their daughter Annika, is 18 months old.
