Bowen 2022 Municipal Election candidate list finalized

Bowen Island will have a new mayor as Gary Ander has decided to not seek re-election. There will also be a minimum of four new councillors. There's three mayoral candidates and 11 council candidates

Friday's 4 pm municipal nomination deadline has come and gone, and it's time to take a look at the names that will appear on the ballot next month.

There will be three participants running for mayor, and 11 candidates seeking a council spot. There's also five members from the crowd aiming for an Islands Trust trustee seat. One mayor, six councillors, and two Islands Trust trustees will be chosen on election day, October 15.  

Three members of the current council are seeking re-election, and four members won't be running this election cycle, including Mayor Gary Ander.
