Dear Editor, After almost three years in the making, on June 27, the Economic Development Committee (EDC) presented its Community Brand concepts to Council which gave unanimous endorsement.

Dear Editor, The recent council brochure on housing reminds me of the old funnies piece from the office at Artisan Square: high on fumes but desperately short on anything of substance.

Dear Editor, I left the island for four years in 1989 for a lucrative job which allowed me to buy property just before the prices doubled and coincidentally, just when the GST came in. Our economy started changing into “world” interests.

As often happens on Facebook, the conversation has been very loud. In other venues the conversation has been notably hushed. I would rather be writing about anchovies in Howe Sound, because let’s face it that is way easier.

I was sorry to learn this week that Adam Taylor is making his exit from the island, even if it’s only temporary, and even if he will undoubtedly be back regularly to visit his family and many friends on island.
