Bowen has really come into bloom this summer, you may have noticed. Volunteers have stepped in to spruce up the island in preparation for a special visit this week.

I’ve watched the discussion over the Bowen Island branding unfold over the last few days and I have to say it has inspired me, challenged me in good ways, and leaves me once again grateful to be part of this amazing island.

Dear Editor, It’s hard to believe it was 25 years ago when the Bowen Island Fire Department put on the first Dock Dance. The location was Norma & Denny’s Bowen Island Marina. The band was Jimmy Roy’s Five Star Hillbillies.
