Last weekend the Bowen Island Men’s Fast Pitch League opened with an exciting start to a promising season.

Ninety-nine percent of everything is just showing up! So… for all you toe-tappers and wanna be dancers, it’s time to get out and show up for swing lessons at the Gallery at Artisan Square on Monday Nights starting on April 28th.

With spring in the air and ski season coming to a close what better way to embrace the warmer weather than to get back on the water for a nice calming paddle.

On Saturday April 19th approximately 25 brave young Taekwondo students were tested on their skills in the hopes of advancing to their next belt level.

Both Junior and Senior IPS ultimate frisbee teams challenged Sutherland at Bowfest field last Friday.

Now that spring time is here many Bowen Islanders are dusting off their bicycles for pleasure and commuting use. As those of us who live here know, the roads on Bowen Island are narrow and have no sidewalks and many pedestrians use the roadway.

The weather finally cooperated and golf season officially kicked off on Saturday, April 12 with fourty-nine competitors in the 6th annual Bowen Island Golf Club's Island Masters.

The Bowen Island Football Club (BIFC) has had tremendous success with their adult co-ed league and has decided to introduce an under 16 youth league for both boys and girls.

On Friday afternoon, Bowen Island’s soccer pitch is the domain of six and seven year old girls (and one boy, who they are happy to have join them). This new, girls soccer league is Rina Freed’s creation.

There’s nothing like tuning up the bike and going for a ride, especially after a long winter. Dan Cowan’s bike camps proved very popular over spring break and its easy to understand why.
