Some people unwind by painting, or writing or playing music. I unwind by, well, winding up. I run. Counter-intuitive you say? How can one relax by expending energy? Try it. You may not embrace this same sentiment the first time out.

Last weekend, in the Gordon Head Soccer Jamboree held near the University of Victoria the West Vancouver Fury swept aside the opposition winning all four games and not allowing a single goal.

Last Sunday after 13 weeks of training a group, of "fitter than they were before" Islanders participated in the Vancouver Sun Run. With more than 49,000 competitors, the Sun Run is one of the largest 10km road races in North America.

Last Saturday the Bowen FC U15 boys team played their final game of the season, squaring off against the Kerrisdale Vipers in the Silver Commonwealth Cup final.
